Classes / Categories

Bikes must fit within the regulations outlined in the MoMs and Supplementary Regulations.

These can be found here.

No road racing bikes are permitted.

Bikes: 'Open' class rules as per MoMs for Club and State Championship events: Supermoto machines up to 500cc 2-stroke or 700cc 4-stroke, any wheel size permitted.

Most commonly 250cc and 450cc bikes, but variations are still seen and encouraged! Note National events may run Open and Pro classes which have different bike restrictions. See MoMs.


Age: >16yrs of age unless endorsed*. 

*A person's age on the 1st of January will determine their age for competition purposes for that calendar year. Riders can move into the nest higher age group when they become eligible by reason of celebrating a birthday. Once moved, they cannot move back. See Section 14 of Section 14 of MA Licence Conditions & Endorsements.

Tarmac + Dirt: This category includes the dirt section where permissible. 

Supermoto Open is for faster pace riders

New and novice riders: see Supermoto Clubman

SUPERMOTO CLUBMAN

Age: Riders from 9 to under 16's * **

**Junior riders can, 6 months prior to their birthday, commence coaching/practice/non-competitive tracknights/days on a machine of the increased capacity that they will be competing on when reaching the required age.

Bikes: Supermoto machines up to 85cc 2-stroke or 160cc 4-stroke. Any wheel size  permitted.

 

Bike choice is highly dependent on the individual and their skill level. There are commonly 85cc 2-strokes of various manufacturers, 4-stroke such as the Honda CRF150R or the DHZ 155 (ready to ride supermoto only around $3k new!). 

Tarmac + Dirt: Minimotard Juniors ride Tarmac + Dirt where permissible. 

Age: 7-12yrs* **. Suited for the little ones just starting out!

J1 is a SupermotoWA exclusive, non-competitive class designed to help kids build their skills in a safe and welcoming family environment.

Bikes: Eligible machines are road/supermoto prepped machines, up to 65cc 2 stroke, & 125cc 4 stroke (small wheel bikes only).

Tarmac only. Dirt section allowed as targeted coaching depending on the level of the rider(s) and the discretion of the CoC allowing for assessment of conditions. 

Parents are able to see the entire track from the pits and there are plenty of coaching opportunities available and family discounts for kids and parents!

One of the best classes to participate in, and a spectacle to watch.
